Belz Museum of Asian and Judaic Art
Pembroke Square Building/Concourse Level
Memphis, TN 38103
The Belz Museum of Asian & Judaic Art may be one of the newer museums in Memphis, but its objects date from 202 BC to the early twentieth century. Founded in 1998, the museum houses the largest and most comprehensive collection of Asian art in the southern region of the United States. You will see more than 900 objects including intricately carved jades and ivories, paintings, ceramics, textiles and funerary art.
In addition to the Asian collection, the collection of Judaica (historical and literal pieces relating to Judaism) reflects the artistic journey to some of Israel’s most celebrated contemporary artists including Daniel Kafri and Ofra Friedland.
The museum is located on the trolley line in Downtown Memphis and is within walking distance of Beale Street, luxury hotels, the Orpheum Theatre and a host of restaurants.
